Director Marcel Walz follows up his retro slasher Brute 1976 by skipping ahead 10 years for Brute 1986. Written by Joe Knetter, the sequel sees the Birdy family return to menace a Heavy Metal band shooting a music video in a deserted western town.
Returning from Brute 1976 are cast members Dazelle Yvette, Sarah French and Gigi Gustin. They are joined by Bill Kaulitz, Pancho Moler, Sarah Kaplan, Heather Grace Hancock and Lew Temple.
"I'm an '80s baby - actually, a 1986 baby," says Walz. "I grew up obsessed with '80s horror classics like Halloween IlI, Friday the 13th Part VI, Sleepaway Camp II, The Burning, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, and so many more. It's my favourite decade (alongside the '90s), and when we decided to make this movie, I knew we had to go all in."
Brute 1986 receives its world premiere at Tubi FrightFest Halloween on October 31st.
