If you've seen the 2020 British thriller Kindred you'll be familiar with the premise of director Peter Howitt's Confinement. Both movies are centred on a widowed pregnant black woman taken in by the wealthy family of their late white husband, only to find said family has sinister intentions towards their unborn child.
This one sees Nathalie Emmanuel play the unfortunate protagonist with Claire Forlani as her creepy mother-in-law.
Written by Will Honley and April Maguire, the film also stars Ben Cura, Eloise Lovell Anderson and Charlie Hiscock.
Confinement is on UK/ROI VOD from September 1st.
