Based on the novel by Judith Sanders, director Kyle Kauwika Harris's The Huntsman sees an ICU nurse attempt to revive a comatose man accused of killing six women.
Written by Steven Jon Whritner, the film stars Shawn Ashmore, Elizabeth Mitchell, Jessy Schram and Garret Dillahunt.
"With The Huntsman I wanted to tap into the gray areas of morality, the limits of justice, and the slippery nature of truth creating a psychological tension that fuels the heart of the film," says Harris. "It forces viewers to lean in, to question every moment and to stay on the edge without relying on gratuitous violence. The true horror often lies not in what we see, but in what we don't. The mind's fragility is both a weapon and a vulnerability, one that we all share, regardless of our circumstances. In making this film, my goal is not just to entertain, but to evoke a visceral reaction that lingers long after the credits roll, as The Huntsman is a thrilling journey where the only certainty is that nothing is what it seems, and no one can be trusted. And in the uncertainty, I hope you find a story that both challenges and thrills, leaving you questioning the characters as they confront their inner demons, be it grief, guilt or paranoia."
The Huntsman is in US cinemas from February 6th and VOD from February 10th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
