We seem to be in the middle of a major revival of the body horror sub-genre. Director Max Minghella (Teen Spirit) and writer Jack Stanley add to this trend with their blackly comic thriller Shell. The film stars Elisabeth Moss as Samantha, a struggling actress drawn into the sinister world of a wellness expert (Kate Hudson).
Kaia Gerber and Elizabeth Berkley also star.
Shell is in US cinemas and on VOD from October 3rd. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
