Director Chloé Zhao (The Rider; Nomadland) and co-writer Maggie O'Farrell adapt the latter's 2020 novel Hamnet. The film is a fictional account of the life of William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal) and his wife Agnes (Jessie Buckley) in the wake of the death of their son Hamnet (Jacobi Jupe).
Emily Watson, Joe Alwyn, Jack Shalloo and David Wilmot also star.
Hamnet is in UK/ROI cinemas from January 9th, 2026.
