Combining the animal attacks sub-genre with psychological horror is director Michael Patrick Jann's Alma & the Wolf. Written by Abigail Miller, the film stars Ethan Embry as a small town Deputy Sheriff whose son mysteriously disappears amid his investigation into an unexplained animal attack.
Also starring are Li Jun Li, Jeremie Harris, Lukas Jann, Beth Malone, Kevin Allison, Alexandra Doke and Mather Zickel.
Alma & the Wolf is in US cinemas and on VOD from June 20th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
