Written and directed by Tom Schulman, who picked up an Oscar for his
screenplay for Dead Poets' Society, Double Down South is a noirish thriller set in the the
world of keno pool gambling.
The film stars Lili Simmons as Diana, an ace pool player taken under
the wing of Nick (Kim Coates), who primes her for a match against his
old rival Beaumont DuBinion (Justin McManus), the world's finest keno pool
player.
Double Down South plays at Dances with Films NY on December
3rd. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
Nick (Kim Coates, “Bad Blood”) owns a run-down plantation house and is charmed by a smart and tough keno pool ace, Diana (Lili Simmons, “Power Book IV: Force”). Diana wants to win big and Nick is determined to stake her. Little Nick (Igby Rigney, “The Midnight Club”) strikes up a friendship with Diana and coaches her to win against the odds. Diana must then prove herself in a man’s world to earn a match against Beaumont DuBinion (Justin McManus, “Power Book II: Ghosts”), the undisputed world’s greatest keno pool player, who, it turns out, has a contentious and violent history with Nick.
