Strickland's latest love letter to European genre cinema arrives in June.
With movies like Berberian Sound Studio and The Duke of Burgundy, writer/director Peter Strickland has worn his love of '70s European genre cinema on his sleeve. His latest, In Fabric, seems to continue the trend of channelling the unique energy and aesthetic of that cinematic era.
The film stars Marianne Jean-Baptiste as a recently divorced woman who purchases an elegant dress that she hopes will boost her dating prospects, only to find the dress carries a curse. Hayley Squires, Gwendoline Christie, Julian Barratt, Steve Oram and Fatma Mohamed also star.
In Fabric is in UK cinemas June 28th, and Strickland will be embarking on a Q+A tour, the dates of which can be seen on the above poster.

The official synopsis reads:
Set against the backdrop of a busy winter sales period at a mysterious Thames Valley department store, the film follows the journey of a cursed but strikingly beautiful blood-red dress as it passes from person to person, with devastating consequences.
