Writer/director Paul Feig is known for his female led comedies Bridesmaids and the Ghostbusters reboot, but he's stepping out of his comfort zone to enter the thriller realm with A Simple Favour, adapted from the novel by Darcey Bell.
Anna Kendrick stars as a small town blogger who investigates the mysterious disappearance of her friend (Blake Lively).
The above poster and below teaser trailer and motion poster evoke the style of Saul Bass, the graphic artist best known for his title sequences for Alfred Hitchcock.
A Simple Favour is in UK/ROI cinemas September 21st.
The official synopsis reads:
A SIMPLE FAVOUR, a stylish post-modern film noir directed by Paul Feig, centers around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mummy blogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily's (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town. Stephanie is joined by Emily's husband Sean (Henry Golding) in this thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge.
