Despite close competition from festive favourite Elf, which climbs one place to Number 2, the animated edition of the Grinch story starring Benedict Cumberbatch holds tight at Number 1 with 80% of its sales this week coming from digital download copies.

Starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Jody Comer, and based on the true story of France’s last trial by combat in the middle ages, knight Sir Jean De Carrouges (Damon) challenges squire Jacques Le Gris (Driver) to a duel after his wife Marguerite (Comer) accuses Le Gris of assault. The story is told across the different points of view of the three characters.
