HOST Prepares for Cinema Release With New Trailer and Poster

Host movie
The lockdown horror hit heads to the big screen in December.

When the lockdown hit the world back in March, several filmmakers managed to make the best of a bad situation and get movies made with limited resources. The most talked about of the lot was director Rob Savage's Host, in which a group of friends are terrorised on a Zoom call after taking part in an online seance.

Originally released on horror streaming service Shudder, Host is set for a UK/ROI cinema release on December 4th, when it will also be available on Digital platforms. Special Halloween screenings are taking place on 31st October, with an exclusive cast and crew Q&A.

Check out the new UK trailer and poster below.

The official synopsis reads:

Six friends get together during lockdown for their weekly zoom call. It's Haley’s turn to organise an activity and instead of a quiz, she’s arranged for a medium to conduct a séance. Bored and feeling mischievous, Jemma decides to have some fun and invents a story about a boy in her school who hanged himself. However, her prank gives license for a demonic presence to cross over, taking on the guise of the boy in Jemma’s made-up story. The friends begin noticing strange occurrences in their homes as the evil presence begins to make itself known, and they soon realise that they might not survive the night.
