
The story of Ann Lee, founder of the religious sect known as the Shakers, is brought to the screen as a musical by writer/director Mona Fastvold (The World to Come). Amanda Seyfried plays Lee in a film that combines traditional Shaker hymns with new songs written by Daniel Blumberg and choreography by Celia Rowlson-Hall.
The film also stars Lewis Pullman, Thomasin McKenzie, Stacy Martin, Christopher Abbott and Tim Blake Nelson.
The Testament of Ann Lee is in UK/ROI cinemas from February 20th.
