First Trailer and Poster for Shih-Ching Tsou and Sean Baker’s LEFT-HANDED GIRL

The Taiwanese drama comes to cinemas and Netflix in November.

Writer/director Shih-Ching Tsou teams up with Oscar-winner Sean Baker (Anora) as co-writer of family drama Left-Handed Girl, the pair having previously co-directed 2004's Take Out. The film follows a single mother and her two daughters as they movie to Taipei from the countryside. Tensions rise when the youngest daughter is forbidden from using her left hand by her superstitious grandfather.

The film stars Shih-Yuan Ma, Janel Tsai, Nina Ye and Teng-Hui Huang.

Left-Handed Girl is in UK cinemas from November 14th and on Netflix from November 28th.

The official synopsis reads:

A single mother and her two daughters return to Taipei after several years of living in the countryside to open a stand at a buzzing night market. Each in their own way, they will have to adapt to this new environment to make ends meet and maintain the family unity. But when their traditional grandfather forbids his youngest left-handed granddaughter from using her "devil hand," generations of family secrets begin to unravel.
