Cult Horror MARTYRS to Make its 4K UHD Debut - New Trailer
The French horror comes to 4K UHD in October.

Perhaps the most infamous movie to come out of the New French Extremity Movement of the 2000s was writer/director Pascal Laugier's Martyrs. The film sees two young women seek revenge at a family home, only to experience horrors they could never have imagined. Its ambiguous ending continues to spark debate today.

Martyrs will make its worldwide 4K UHD debut on October 27th when Studiocanal will release it as a limited edition (4,000 copies) dual UHD/bluray package housed in a hardbound slipcase, complete with a 100-page collector’s book and fold-out poster. A wealth of new and archival bonus features will accompany a new 4K restoration of the film.

Due to its graphic nature we can't embed Studiocanal's new trailer here but you can watch it on YouTube here and check out the packshots below.

The official synopsis reads:

In 1971, a young Lucie Jurin (Jessie Pham) manages to escape from a slaughterhouse in which she has been subjected to unspeakable torture. Placed in an orphanage, she forms a strong bond with Anna (Erika Scott), who tries to help her to recover from her trauma. Fifteen years later and now in adulthood, Lucie (Mylène Jampanoï) breaks into the isolated home of the Belford family, believing that they were involved in the horrific abuse she suffered in childhood. When she receives a call from Lucie, Anna (Morjana Alaoui) rushes to her aid – but soon comes to regret ever having set foot in the Belford house, where she will experience things beyond human comprehension.
