40 ACRES, Starring Danielle Deadwyler, Gets a UK/ROI Release [Trailer/Poster]

The post-apocalyptic thriller comes to UK/ROI cinemas and VOD in August.

The feature debut of writer/director RT Thorne, 40 Acres is set in a post-apocalyptic Canada where a plague has wiped out all animals, turning many to cannibalism. Danielle Deadwyler plays a mother and former soldier striving to protect her family from a cannibalistic militia.

Co-written with Glenn Taylor from a story by Lora Campbell, the film also stars Kataem O'Connor, Michael Greyeyes, Jaeda LeBlanc, Milcania Diaz-Rojas and Leenah Robinson.

40 Acres is in UK/ROI cinemas from August 1st and VOD from August 4th.

The official synopsis reads:

Hailey Freeman and her family are the last descendants of African American farmers who settled in 1875 in rural Canada after the first Civil War. In a famine-decimated future they struggle to make their last stand against those intent on taking their home.
