The feature debut of writer/director RT Thorne, 40 Acres is set in a post-apocalyptic Canada where a plague has wiped out all animals, turning many to cannibalism. Danielle Deadwyler plays a mother and former soldier striving to protect her family from a cannibalistic militia.
Co-written with Glenn Taylor from a story by Lora Campbell, the film also stars Kataem O'Connor, Michael Greyeyes, Jaeda LeBlanc, Milcania Diaz-Rojas and Leenah Robinson.
40 Acres is in UK/ROI cinemas from August 1st and VOD from August 4th.
