French writer/director Coralie Fargeat (Revenge) makes her US debut with The Substance, which scooped the Best Screenplay award at this year's Cannes Film
Festival.
The film stars Demi Moore as Elisabeth Sparkle, a TV
aerobics host who is fired from her position when she hits the age of 50.
When a shady lab offers her a solution to the aging process, things begin
to take a dark turn for Elisabeth.
Margaret Qualley, Dennis Quaid and Hugo Diego Garcia also star.
The Substance is in UK/ROI cinemas from September 20th.

The official synopsis reads:
Demi Moore gives a career-best performance as Elisabeth Sparkle, a former A-lister past her prime and suddenly fired from her fitness TV show by repellent studio head Harvey (Dennis Quaid).
She is then drawn to the opportunity presented by a mysterious new drug: THE SUBSTANCE. All it takes is one injection and she is reborn – temporarily – as the gorgeous, twenty-something Sue (Margaret Qualley).
The only rule? Time needs to be split: exactly one week in one body, then one week in the other. No exceptions. A perfect balance. What could go wrong?
