A hybrid of found footage and traditional filmmaking techniques,
director Paul A. Brooks' Hunting for the Hag sees three young
women head into the remote woods of Illinois in the hopes of capturing
footage of a mysterious folk legend known as "The Hawthorne Hag."
Co-written with Sierra Renfro, the film stars Daniel Roebuck, Jasmine Williams, Alexa Maris, Sierra Renfro, Thomas A. Jackson, Steve
Christopher, Nathan Brandon Gaik
and director Brooks.
"I wanted to make a horror movie that toys with your expectations.
Hag starts as one thing and then morphs into something
totally different," says Brooks. "There's a lot of twists and turns, so
hopefully our audience has fun with that. This is a film about three women
making a film and having all of it go horribly wrong."
Hunting for the Hag is on US VOD from April 2nd. A UK/ROI
release has yet to be announced.
