Written and directed by Matt Winn, with co-writer
James Handel, The Trouble with Jessica stars
Shirley Henderson and Alan Tudyk as Sarah and Tom, a
financially troubled couple relying on the sale of their London home to get
out of debt. When their friend Jessica (Indira Varma) kills herself on their property, Sarah and Tom
attempt to make it look like she committed the act in her own home so as
not to jeopardise the sale. Needless to say, things don't go so
smoothly.
Rufus Sewell and Olivia Williams also star.
"The Trouble with Jessica is the film I've always wanted to
make - a black comedy satirising the British middle classes, examining
their hopes, dreams, duplicities and hypocrisies," says Winn. "It's a state of the nation piece about Britain now, that asks a simple
question: who are we and what are our values? Working with this ensemble cast - comprised of some of the country's best
actors - was a director's dream and I'm thrilled that our film will be
hitting the big screen this autumn."
The Trouble with Jessica is in UK/ROI cinemas from November
3rd.
