It's ironic that James Cameron sunk his own box office record when
Avatar overtook Titanic as the highest grossing
movie of all time (when not adjusted for inflation of course), and he may
well do so once again with
Avatar: The Way of Water
currently packing in audiences well into its theatrical run. Perhaps
Titanic can regain some of its box office ground with the
upcoming 25th anniversary rerelease.
Newly remastered, Titanic will be re-released to cinemas worldwide in 3D 4K HDR and high-frame rate
on February 10th.
If you've been living under a rock for the past 25 years, the film
dramatises the sinking of the titular vessel, with
Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet starring as two young
passengers who fall head over heels in love as the boat starts letting in
water.
