Every year a debate rages online over whether or not
Die Hard qualifies as a Christmas movie. Directed by
Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow), Violent Night is a Christmas set action comedy that takes
its cues directly from Die Hard. The movie stars David Harbour as Santa Claus, who thwarts a group
of hostage-taking mercenaries.
John Leguizamo, Cam Gigandet, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi
Patterson
and Beverly D’Angelo also star.
Violent Night is in UK/ROI cinemas from December 2nd.

The official synopsis reads:
When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David Harbour, Black Widow, Stranger Things series) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.
