Nicolas Cage continues his quest to take on the most bizarre
projects on offer by teaming with cult Japanese director
Sion Sono for Prisoners of the Ghostland.
Described by Cage as "the wildest movie I’ve ever made,"
Prisoners of the Ghostland sees Sono make his
English-language debut. Set in a post-apocalyptic frontier, the film sees
Cage play a bank robber set free Snake Plissken style to retrieve the
missing granddaughter (Sofia Boutella) of a warlord (Bill Moseley).
Nick Cassavettes, Tak Sakaguchi and Yuzuka Nakaya also star.
Prisoners of the Ghostland is in UK cinemas and on digital
from September 17th, following its UK premiere at FrightFest on August
28th.
