Writer/director Chad Crawford Kinkle's Dementer was
inspired by his desire to make a movie with his sister,
Stephanie Kinkle, who has Down Syndrome. After seeing Miroslav Slaboshpitsky's acclaimed film
The Tribe, Kinkle decided to press on and make a horror movie set in the unique
environment inhabited by his sister.
Dementer stars Katie Groshong as a woman who flees
the grip of a cult and takes a job at a care centre where she becomes
convinced a woman (Stephanie Kinkle) in her care is being targeted
by the demons she fled. Brandy Edmiston, Eller Hall and genre stalwart
Larry Fessenden also star.
Dementer is on US Digital from March 2nd. A UK/ROI release
has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
The film follows Katie, a young woman who flees a backwoods cult and takes a job at a care center for special needs adults in her determination to do some good with her life. But despite her best intentions, Katie can't escape the signs that "the devils" are coming for Stephanie, a woman with Down syndrome she cares for, who keeps getting sicker despite Katie's rituals to ward off evil spirits.
