There's a famous episode of The Twilight Zone in which
William Shatner plays a passenger who notices a Gremlin tearing apart the
engine of the airliner he's travelling on. Director
Roseanne Liang appears to be giving this concept an all-action spin
with her new film, Shadow in the Cloud.
Set during WWII, the film stars Chloë Grace Moretz as a British
officer who joins an all-male American bomber crew. She has more than
1940s sexism to deal with however, when it's revealed that the plane has
its own Gremlins.
Nick Robinson, Beulah Koale, Taylor John Smith, Callan Mulvey, Benedict
Wall, Joe Witkowski
and Byron Coll also star.
Shadow in the Cloud is in US cinemas and on VOD from January 1st. A
UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
Check out the first clip and a new poster below.
The official synopsis reads:
In the throes of World War II, Captain Maude Garrett (CHLOË GRACE MORETZ) joins the all-male crew of a B-17 bomber with a top-secret package. Caught off guard by the presence of a woman on a military flight, the crew tests Maude’s every move. Just as her quick wit is winning them over, strange happenings and holes in her backstory incite paranoia surrounding her true mission. But this crew has more to fear…lurking in the shadows, something sinister is tearing at the heart of the plane. Trapped between an oncoming air ambush and an evil lurking within, Maude must push beyond her limits to save the hapless crew and protect her mysterious cargo.
