First look at the upcoming zombie sequel.
Director Yeon Sang-ho's Korean horror Train to Busan breathed some life into the rotting corpse of the zombie genre by confining its action to the cramped carriages of a high speed train. Now Sang-ho returns with sequel Peninsula, in which Korea has become an undead infested wasteland. Gang Dong-won plays a soldier who returns to Korea on a deadly mission. Lee Jung-hyun and Lee Re also star.
A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced but you can watch the first trailer below.
The official synopsis reads:
Jung-seok, a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.
"David Lynch displays a sensitivity and respect to his subject to such a degree that we soon look past Merrick's physical appearance and grow to admire, maybe even envy him."— 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝕠𝕧𝕚𝕖 đť•Žđť•’đť•—đť•—đť•ťđť•–đť•Ł (@themoviewaffler) April 2, 2020
