Siodmak's 1949 thriller makes its UK blu-ray debut this June.
Three years after scoring a hit with The Killers, director Robert Siodmak and star Burt Lancaster reteamed for another noir classic in 1949's Criss Cross.
In the film, Lancaster plays an armoured car driver who finds himself drawn into a criminal conspiracy when he attempts to win back the affections of his ex-wife (Yvonne DeCarlo), who is now the trophy wife of a dangerous criminal (Dan Duryea).
Newly restored in 4K, Criss Cross will make its UK blu-ray when it's released by Eureka Entertainment on June 22nd.
Bonus features include a new audio commentary by film author Lee Gambin, and actress Rutanya Alda; new video essay by film scholar Adrian Martin; original trailer; and a collector’s booklet featuring new writing by film historian Kat Ellinger, an essay by Adam Batty, archival writing and imagery.
Check out Eureka's new trailer, artwork and official synopsis below.
The official synopsis reads:
Steve Thompson (Burt Lancaster – Novecento, Birdman of Alcatraz) is a hardworking armoured car driver with a fatal attraction to his ex-wife Anna (Yvonne DeCarlo – The Munsters), who's now married to notorious hoodlum Slim Dundee (Dan Duryea – Winchester ‘73). Unable to stay away from her, Steve has a secret tryst with Anna ... only to be discovered by Dundee. To cover up their affair, Steve convinces Dundee that he only met with Anna to get Dundee's help in robbing an upcoming payroll shipment he will be driving. The hood falls for the ruse, which triggers a series of harrowing events that ultimately lead to violence and death.
