A new box-set collecting five of Sam Fuller's films is coming to blu-ray in October.
Fans of filmmaker Samuel Fuller should save the date of October 28th, as that's when Eureka Entertainment will release 'Fuller at Fox', a five disc hardbound blu-ray box-set that gathers five of Fuller's movies - Fixed Bayonets!, Pickup on South Street, Hell and High Water, House of Bamboo, Forty Guns - along with the 2013 documentary A Fuller Life.
The five movies were made by Fuller over a six-year period from 1951-57 as part of his contract with Twentieth Century Fox, and established him as a distinctive voice in American cinema.
The box-set, which is limited to 2000 copies, features new 4K restorations of Fixed Bayonets!, Pickup on South Street, Hell and High Water and Forty Guns, and a 2K restoration of House of Bamboo.
Bonus features include commentaries by various film critics and scholars; new interviews with critics and Fuller experts; archive Fuller interviews; a new video essay by David Cairns; a documentary on actor Richard Widmark; and original trailers.
The set also comes with a 100 page collector's book featuring essays by Richard Combs, Murielle Joudet, Philip Kemp, Glenn Kenny and Amy Simmons; excerpts from Fuller's autobiography 'A Third Face'; and rare archival imagery.
