A pair of new promos for Von Trier's serial killer drama.
Lars Von Trier's latest feather ruffler, The House That Jack Built, stars Matt Dillon as a serial killer in 1970s America who views his homicidal hobby as an artform. The film also stars Riley Keough, Bruno Ganz and Uma Thurman.
The director's cut, which caused such a commotion at its Cannes premiere, is being given a one night only release in US cinemas on November 28th. Then on December 14th, an R-rated cut will be released in cinemas and on VOD. If you're interested in seeing a Von Trier movie, I can't see why you want to watch a cut down version, but each to their own.
On this side of the pond, Curzon will be releasing The House That Jack Built in cinemas and on VOD December 14th, but it's yet to be confirmed which version UK audiences will get to see.
Below you can check out the new official US trailer and director's cut announcement.
The official synopsis reads:
Lars von Trier's upcoming drama follows the highly intelligent Jack (Matt Dillon) over a span of 12 years and introduces the murders that define Jack’s development as a serial killer. We experience the story from Jack’s point of view, while he postulates each murder is an artwork in itself. As the inevitable police intervention is drawing nearer, he is taking greater and greater risks in his attempt to create the ultimate artwork.
