Ozon's latest comes to UK cinemas and VOD in June.
The prolific writer/director François Ozon puts out movies at a rate of one per year, and this year's offering sees him return to the mystery, a genre he has explored in the past in films like Swimming Pool, Under the Sand and In the House.
Ozon reunites with his Jeune et Jolie lead Marine Vacth for L'Amant Double, a loose adaptation of the Joyce Carol Oates novel 'Lives of the Twins'.
Vacth plays a young woman who is seduced by her therapist (Jérémie Renier), only to then fall for his sinister twin. Jacqueline Bisset also stars.
Curzon will release L'Amant Double in UK cinemas and on their VOD service Curzon On Demand on June 1st.
The official synopsis reads:
Marine Vacth (Jeune et Jolie) plays Chloé, a young woman who falls in love with her psychoanalyst Paul (Dardennes’ favourite Jérémie Renier). When they decide to move in together, everything seems perfect until a series of discoveries lead her to suspect that he may be living a double life. As she searches for the truth, Chloé’s investigations plunge her into a dark and bewildering world of smoke, mirrors and doppelgangers – where nothing is as it seems, and no one can be trusted.
