First look at Andy Serkis's take on The Jungle Book.
Arriving two years after Jon Favreau blew us away with his live-action update of Disney's The Jungle Book, director Andy Serkis's take on Rudyard Kipling's tale has a lot to live up to.
Serkis's film returns to the original text to deliver a 'darker' adaptation than the Disney version, and he's assembled an impressive line-up of motion capture talent including Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The first trailer and a behind the scenes featurette have been released, which you can check out below.
The official synopsis reads:
The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli, raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo and a panther named Bagheera, Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan. But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins.
