Verhoeven's bloody and bawdy fantasy comes to blu-ray in August.
After establishing himself as the Netherlands' premier auteur with films like Turkish Delight, The 4th Man and Soldier of Orange, Paul Verhoeven headed to Hollywood in 1985, with his regular star Rutger Hauer in tow, to direct medieval fantasy epic Flesh + Blood, transferring his obsession with sex and violence to a larger canvas.
Heavily cut on its initial UK release, Flesh + Blood makes its UK blu-ray debut with this uncut dual format edition from Eureka Entertainment, releasing August 6th.
Bonus features include a feature commentary by Verhoeven, two documentaries, and interviews with Hauer, screenwriter Gerard Soeteman and composer Basil Poledouris.

Eureka's official synopsis reads:
In Western Europe, 1501, a small army of mercenaries led by the charismatic and mercurial Martin (Rutger Hauer; Blade Runner, The Hitcher) reclaim a heavily fortified castle for its owner Arnolfini, who then betrays the band and ejects them from the city by force. Swearing revenge, Martin leads a violent assault on the nobleman and ends up accidentally kidnapping the beautiful Agnes (Jennifer Jason Leigh – The Hateful Eight), the fiancée of Arnolfini’s son Steven, who in turn pledges to wipe out the mercenary group once and for all.
