Happy Death Day
gave us a horror spin on Groundhog Day and
Freaky
did the same for Freaky Friday. Now Back to the Future gets a similar reworking with
director Nahnatchka Khan's Totally Killer.
Written by David Matalon, Sasha Perl-Raver and
Jen D'Angelo, the film stars Kiernan Shipka as Jamie, a teen
who accidentally travels back 35 years to a time when her town is being
menaced by a killer. Teaming up with the teenage version of her mom (Olivia Holt), Jamie attempts to stop the killer and change history.
Julie Bowen, Randall Park, Charlie Gillespie, Lochlyn Munro, Troy L.
Johnson, Liana Liberato, Kelcey Mawema, Stephi Chin-Salvo, Anna Diaz,
Ella Choi, Jeremy Monn-Djasngar, Nathaniel Appiah
and Jonathan Potts also star.
Totally Killer is on Prime Video from October 6th.

The official synopsis reads:
Thirty-five years after the shocking murder of three teens, the infamous “Sweet Sixteen Killer“ returns on Halloween night to claim a fourth victim. Seventeen-year-old Jamie (Shipka) ignores her overprotective mom’s (Bowen) warning and comes face-to-face with the masked maniac and, on the run for her life, accidentally time-travels to 1987, the year of the original killings. Forced to navigate the unfamiliar and outrageous culture of the 1980s, Jamie teams up with her teen mom (Holt) to take down the killer once and for all, before she’s stuck in the past forever.
