Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders has gained an unprecedented cult-like following, and for good reason. WeLoveBrum.co.uk has recommended it, and the cast is as good as you’re likely to see on a television programme. Cillian Murphy plays the main character of Tommy Shelby, while Helen McCrory and Paul Anderson play Aunt Polly and Arthur Shelby. The show centres around Tommy’s plans for dominance in the country as the leader of the aggressive Peaky Blinders.

The Birmingham gang has captivated audiences around the world, and there has been a host of notorious villains to come up against the Birmingham gang. Tom Hardy, Adrien Brody and Sam Neill have starred against Murphy so far, and if you haven’t watched it, you will immediately become hooked.

Line Of Duty

If you’re into crime thrillers, then you’re missing out if you aren’t watching Line Of Duty. It is one of the most popular dramas on British television, with the show being included in the best 80 shows that the BBC has ever broadcasted. It has progressed over the years, with the most recent season being watched by nearly 13 million people.

The show is created and written by Jed Mercurio and centres around Steve Arnott’s move to Anti-Corruption Unit 12 (AC-12). Vicky McClure stars as Arnott’s partner, while Adrian Dunbar is the hugely likeable head of operations Superintendent Hastings. The unit is faced with uncovering corrupt officers in the police force, and there have been various well-known faces involved. The latest season saw Stephen Graham playing an undercover officer. You will immediately binge-watch the entire season and wonder why you have never watched it before.

Sex Education

Viewers that are looking for a laugh should turn their attentions to Netflix’s hugely popular Sex Education. The series centres around a college and follows Asa Butterfield’s Otis mission as a sexual advisor. There are many popular characters in the show including Gillian Anderson’s portrayal as Otis’ mother, Ncuti Gatwa as Eric and Emma Mackey as Maeve.

The show may be crude for some viewers, but it does also teach a lot of vital lessons throughout. Viewers will see the importance of learning about all things sex nevermind how embarrassing. It also touches on important issues such as abortions, religion and sexual preference. The second season was released in January of this year, with a third season already being slated for late 2020.
