M Night Shyamalan (Trap; Knock at the Cabin) and author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) might seem like an odd combination but the two have collaborated on Remain. Shyamalan writes and directs from an idea he developed with Sparks, who turned it into a novel released in 2025.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays Tate, a depressed architect mourning the death of his sister. Moving to Cape Cod to design a summer home, Tate meets an enigmatic young woman (Phoebe Dynevor) and finds himself drawn into a local mystery.
Ashley Walters, Julie Hagerty and Jay O. Sanders also star.
Remain is in UK/ROI cinemas from February 5th, 2027.
