Director Pedro Almodóvar's upcoming comedic drama Bitter Christmas stars Bárbara Lennie as Elsa, an advertising director who uses her work to distract from the grief felt by her mother's death. Forced to take a break from work when she suffers a panic attack, Elsa travels to Lanzarote. A separate timeline follows a filmmaker as he writes a script based on Elsa's story.
The film also stars Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Milena Smit, Carmen Machi, Rossy de Palma and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
Bitter Christmas is in UK/ROI cinemas from August 28th.
