Directed by Britt Bankhead and co-written with Jon Blaze, The Town That Takes is inspired by the American legend of the disappearing Roanoke colonists. In 1587, 115 English settlers vanished from North Carolina's Roanoke Island, leaving the word "CROATOAN" carved into a wooden post.
The film sees Army vet Dean and his 12-year-old son Wyatt drawn into the mystery of a small backwoods town that appears to be connected to the legend. Dean becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a motel clerk, while Wyatt mysteriously disappears.
Miles Mussenden, Mike Markoff, Grace Patterson and Britt Bankhead star.
The Town That Takes is in US cinemas from July 10th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
