Director Flaminia Graziadei's A Year in London stars Nina Pons as an Italian student in London who develops an intense romantic bond with her mentor (Melanie Liburd) when the two women survive a violent robbery.
Carlotta Morelli, Matteo Bassi, Sutara Gayle and Shaun Ramos also star.
"This story is particularly close to my heart because it brings together different phases of my life along with those of the people I have met over the years," says Graziadei. "I see this story as a metaphorical bridge connecting nations, cultures, and languages that may seem profoundly different, but also as an example of courage and commitment from the protagonists, and at its heart lies the love story between Olivia and Nina. In A Year in London, I aim to explore an LGBTQ+ relationship, highlighting the dynamics of pushing and pulling that characterise love, just as in any other romantic encounter, to create a sense of identification in the audience and portray the nuances of a same-sex relationship with the utmost authenticity.
