
Writer/director Ana Asensio follows up her 2017 feature debut Most Beautiful Island with childhood drama Goat Girl. Set in 1988, the film follows eight-year-old Elena (Alessandra González) as she prepares for her first communion. Befriending a gypsy girl (Juncal Fernández) and her pet goat, Elena begins to question the nature of her life.
Silvia Yagüe, Javier Pereira and Lorena Lopez also star.
Goat Girl is in US cinemas from June 19th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.

Directed by Ana Asensio, GOAT GIRL centers on eight-year-old Elena as she prepares for her First Communion in 1988 Madrid, while wrestling with the loss of her grandmother. Her burgeoning friendship with Serezade, a gypsy girl always accompanied by her goat, pushes Elena to challenge what she has been taught about the world.
