
Director Ruán Magan take sus back to 1975 Ireland with his Irish language thriller Báite ("The Drowned"). Screenwriter Sheena Lambert adapts her own novel 'The Lake' with this tale of a Gaeltacht community rocked when the discovery of a body in a man-made lake threatens to expose long held secrets.
The film stars Eleanor O'Brien, Moe Dunford, Juliette Crosbie, Pádraig Ó Loingsigh, Denis Conway, Mark Mac Gearailt, Gearóid Kavanagh and Fionnuala Gygax.
Báite is in Irish cinemas from March 6th. A UK release has yet to be announced.

Set in September 1975, BÁITE (“The Drowned”) follows Peggy Casey, a young woman struggling to protect her family’s rural pub while a murder investigation dredges up buried truths from beneath the lake.
