We've become accustomed to seeing Tom Cruise running in trailers but he's dancing in the first teaser for director Alejandro G. Iñárritu's black comedy Digger. Plot details have been kept under wraps but the film is said to see Cruise play Digger Rockwell, a man who believes he is the planet's only hope as an apocalyptic event approaches.
Iñárritu co-wrote the script with his Birdman writers Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone, and the playwright Sabina Berman.
The cast also includes Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hüller, Riz Ahmed, Sophie Wilde, Emma D'Arcy, Robert John Burke, Burn Gorman, Michael Stuhlbarg and John Goodman.
Digger is in US cinemas from October 2nd, 2026. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
