Czech cinema was known for its sci-fi output during the communist era but
it's been four decades since the last sci-fi movie to come out of the
Eastern European nation. Until now, with writer/director Robert Hloz's Restore Point. Set in 2041, the film follows a detective who investigates a couple's
murder when new technology allows one of the victims to return from the
dead.
Andrea Mohylová, Matěj Hádek, Václav Neužil, Milan Ondrík and
Karel Dobrý star.
Restore Point is on US VOD from February 8th. A UK/ROI
release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
It’s 2041 and the gaps in social and economic inequality have left the world on the brink. A breakthrough in science has given humanity the ability to bring victims of a violent crime back to life by backing up their brain every two days. This allows an ambitious, young detective the opportunity to solve a case of a murdered couple when the restoration team is able to bring one of them back.
