Back in 2017 a short story titled Cat Person by Kristen Roupenian was published in The New Yorker and caused
something of an online sensation. Now it has been adapted for the screen
by director Susanna Fogel and screenwriter Michelle Ashford.
The film stars Emilia Jones as Margot, a young woman who begins
flirting online with an older man, Robert (Nicholas Braun). But when Margot meets Robert in person he fails
to live up to her expectations.
Geraldine Viswanathan, Hope Davis, Fred Melamed, Isabella Rossellini,
Michael Gandolfini, Liza Koshi
and Isaac Cole Powell also star.
Cat Person is in US cinemas from October 6th. A UK/ROI
release has yet to be announced.
