Directed by Greta Gerwig and co-written with Noah Baumbach,
Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the titular doll and
Ryan Gosling as her boyfriend Ken. Plot details have yet to be fully
revealed but the film seems to play out in a world where both humans and
dolls exist.
The ensemble cast also features America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Issa
Rae, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Ana Cruz Kayne, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef,
Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Scott Evans,
Jamie Demetriou, Connor Swindells, Sharon Rooney, Nicola Coughlan, Ritu
Arya, Dua Lipa
and Helen Mirren.
Barbie is in UK/ROI cinemas from July 21st.
