Directed by Michael Cahill (King Of California), Adopting Audrey is based on a true story and stars
Jena Malone as a directionless woman who enters the world of adult
adoption and is taken in by a family as dysfunctional as herself.
Robert Hunger-Bühler and Emily Kuroda also star.
"Seven years ago, I met a woman named Jenna Macfarlane, who told me the
story of her search for an adoptive family as an adult," says Cahill.
"I completely understood her decision to do that. Who doesn't want to
choose their own family at some time in their lives? What an opportunity
it would be to build these crucial relationships once we are older and
wiser. I knew that Jenna's story was one that, despite its unusual
circumstances, was deeply relatable."
Adopting Audrey will have its UK premiere at the Glasgow
Film festival before hitting VOD on March 13th.
