This year's Toronto International Film Festival will open on September
8th with the world premiere of Netflix production
The Swimmers.
Directed by Sally El Hosaini (My Brother the Devil) and co-written with Jack Thorne (Enola Holmes), The Swimmers tells the true story of Yusra and Sarah Mardini (Manal Issa, Nathalie Issa), two sisters who went from being Syrian
refugees to competing at the 2016 Olympics.
Ahmed Malek, Matthias Schweighöfer, Ali Suliman, Kinda Alloush, James
Krishna Floyd
and Elmi Rashid Elmi also star.
The Swimmers is on Netflix from November 23rd with select
cinema screenings in November.
