Richard Connell's short story 'The Most Dangerous Game' has been
imitated countless times by filmmakers down the decades but directors
Irving Pichel and Ernest B. Schoedsack's 1932 adaptation
remains the best.
The film sees Joel McCrea play a big game hunter who becomes the
prey when he washes up on the remote island home of the maniacal Count
Zaroff (Leslie Banks).
The Most Dangerous Game will make its UK blu-ray debut
courtesy of Eureka Entertainment on October 24th.
Bonus features include a new audio commentary with author Stephen Jones and author/critic Kim
Newman; a new interview with Newman on the “hunted human” sub-genre; a new interview with film scholar Stephen Thrower; and a collector’s
booklet featuring a new essay by Craig Ian Mann, illustrated with archival
imagery.

The official synopsis reads:
Big game hunter, Bob Rainsford (Joel McCrea), barely survives a shipwreck in shark infested waters and washes ashore on the private island of the sinister Count Zaroff (played with a delightful zeal by Leslie Banks). Zaroff fancies himself an accomplished hunter also —only his preferred quarry, is man!
