The live-action film based on the much-loved children’s book series flies
straight to Number 1 based on digital downloads only. Starring Darby Camp as Emily Elizabeth, and
Jack Whitehall as her clueless uncle Casey, the pair are forced to
go on the run when their little red puppy grows into a gigantic dog, and
attracts the attention of a genetics company who want to supersize
animals.
Meanwhile, the Stephen Spielberg-directed
West Side Story dances up five places to land at a new peak
of Number 2, following its release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD – becoming
the biggest film on disc of the week.
Former chart-toppers Encanto (3),
Dune
(4) and
No Time To Die
(5) all move down one place, while last week’s Number 1
The King’s Man finishes five places down at Number 6.
The rest of the Top 10 features movement from recent favourites
Ghostbusters: Afterlife, down one to Number 7,
House Of Gucci
which drops four to 9, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage
which rounds off at 10. DC’s
The Suicide Squad
holds at Number 8.
Outside the Top 10, 1999 classic The Green Mile enters the
Official Film Chart for the very first time at Number 12, following the
release of an Ultimate Collector’s Edition including remastered 4K UHD
& Blu-Ray discs, unique artwork, and a 32-page booklet.
Finally, following the release of
The Batman
in cinemas, 2008’s The Dark Knight continues its ascension
up the Official Film Chart – moving 14 places to Number 16.
