Edmond Rostand's 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac has had
several screen adaptations in the past. Director Joe Wright's version
brings Erica Schmidt's 2018 stage musical take on the tale to the
screen.
Peter Dinklage plays Cyrano, a brilliant man crippled by low
self-esteem who finds himself lending his creative talents to help another
man (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) woo the woman (Haley Bennett) he's
secretly in love with himself. Bashir Salahuddin and Ben Mendelsohn also star.
Cyrano is in UK/ROI cinemas from January 14th, 2022.

The official synopsis reads:
A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.).
