First look at Lee Isaac Chung's Sundance winning drama.
This year's Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival was awarded to writer/director Lee Isaac Chung's Minari. Set in the 1980s, Minari follows a Korean family who relocate to Arkansas, where they establish a farm. The film stars Steven Yeun, Yeri Han, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, Scott Haze, Yuh-Jung Youn and Will Patton.
A24 have picked up Minari for US distribution, but we're still awaiting news of a UK/ROI release. Meanwhile you can check out the first trailer below.
The official synopsis reads:
A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
