The French set sci-fi drama comes to UK/ROI VOD in August.
Inspired by Bernard de Fontenelle’s book 'Conversations on the Plurality of Worlds', Oliver Krimpas's directorial debut Around the Sun was shot in and around the 17th century Normandy château where Fontenelle’s book was written and set.
Written by award-winning journalist Jonathan Kiefer, the film stars Gethin Anthony (Manhunt: Unabomber) as a film location scout who becomes enchanted by both a French château and its owner (Cara Theobold, Downton Abbey). As the pair bond, they begin to question the reality of their existence.
Around the Sun is on UK/ROI VOD from August 4th.

The official synopsis reads:
Around The Sun is an indie romantic drama with a sci-fi twist. It’s an intimate tale of love, reason and realising you’re not the centre of the universe. Bernard (Gethin Anthony), a film location scout, tours a repossessed and crumbling French château. Over the course of an afternoon, he falls for both the place and its owner’s flirtatious representative, Maggie (Cara Theobold), who recounts the story of an influential popular-science book written and set there. But is their present-tense connection for real, or just a projection of the book’s 17th-century characters?
