The shot under quarantine movie comes to Vimeo this week.
The restrictions of the global lockdown haven't stopped some filmmakers from continuing to work. While we've seen exploitative and opportunistic cash-ins like Corona Zombies emerge, we're also beginning to see more genuine projects get under way.
Directors Austin and Aaron Keeling's Where the Others Are began life as a piece of immersive theatre launched in Los Angeles only to be almost immediately cancelled by the pandemic. Not to be outdone, the Keelings decided to shoot it as a movie instead.
Set inside a trailer home, the film stars Emily Goss as a woman desperate to leave her husband (Daniel Van Thomas), who she suspects may not be human.
Where the Others Are is available on Vimeo On Demand from May 22nd at vimeo.com/ondemand/wheretheothersare.
Check out the trailer below.
The official synopsis reads:
Where the Others Are welcomes you into a 1980s Airstream, where something otherworldly is brewing between the couple who lives there. Step inside Ben and Maggie's strange and surreal world and witness the unexplainable, as they confront questions of existence, connection, identity, and meaning - within themselves, within their marriage, and within the claustrophobic confines of their vintage RV.
"A powerful and unique film from an ambitious group of filmmakers."— The Movie Waffler (@themoviewaffler) May 17, 2020
